Boosting the immune system
The Immune System is the body's defence mechanism to handle invaders. It is an amazing work of nature. It does a very good job of fighting off illnesses and infections when it is in good condition. The way it works is beyond the scope of this article as it is highly complex and finely tuned. Unfortunately, when it is not in peak condition, your immune system can fail to operate as well as it should.
Certain key herbs can help
There are many factors which can cause the immune system to deteriorate.
Some of them include poor diet, not enough sleep, not enough exercise,
too much stress and many other factors. Thankfully it is possible
to increase the strength of your immune system and there are certain
herbs mentioned below which can have a tremendous effect.
See the bottom of this article for information about Echinacea,
Goldenseal and Astragalus, the three most potent immune boosting
herbs.
Laughter and a cheerful outlook
Laughter has long been held as the "Best Medicine" and,
in fact, science has now found that every cell in the body has a
receptor for the substances produced when we are happy. Every cell
is therefore influenced by how we feel. Our first line of defence
against any disease is therefore Happiness!
This might be easier said than done but one tip is to look around and find something that you can be happy or cheerful about. Force yourself to smile. It works, try it and see.
Move your body and boost your circulation
After almost a century of conventional medicine, it has
finally been ascertained that disease can often follow any blockage
in
the body's
intricate
internal mechanisms.
Therefore
another
defence against disease is to keep the body and its mechanisms
MOVING! This means moving the body muscles as in regular exercise
as well
as moving the internal involuntary muscles.
Large internal muscles make up the walls of the esophagus, the stomach, alimentary canal, colon, bladder and other internal organs. When these are working normally, and moving the food through the body, the body's Immune System works efficiently. Two or three bowel movements per day will ensure that the body's Defence System is not put under any excess strain. Any less frequency in bowel movements causes putrid material to leak into the body cavity. Less frequent bowel movements will weaken the bodies immune system and can lead to serious internal diseases.
We strongly recommend our Detox programs to you. Click here for details.
The defence system of the body starts with the skin - a waterproof layer containing bacterial sweat and other protective secretions. It is important to allow the skin to breathe and not cover it with harmful chemicals or non absorbent clothing. Internally the body surface is covered with layers of mucus produced by the cells lining the nose, throat and lungs and other organs. There are various special organs such as the adenoids, tonsils and others that filter off and handle bacteria. The blood system supplies the cells with nutrients and is pumped by the powerful heart muscles.
The Lymphatic System
There is another system - the lymphatic system - which drains the
"waste" fluids from the cells. The word lymph comes from the latin
word lympha meaning water. Hopefully this suggests to you
the need to drink plenty of fresh, clean water each day. You should
drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of filtered water a day in addition
to any teas you may drink etc.
The lymphatic system consists of glands (such as the tonsils, the spleen and the small glands in the armpits) at various parts of the body linked by large lymph channels. The lymph gland's purposes are to filter out and destroy foreign substances, to produce antibodies and lymphatic cells for the lymph system. This system is the biggest tool your body has to maintain its immunity to disease.
The blood stream uses the heart to pump blood around the body. So how does the Lymphatic System work as there is no heart to pump the Lymph system? By MOVING.
Get the blood flowing
Well, valves regulate the flow of the lymphatic fluids but the flow of the
system is provided by BODY MOVEMENT. That is why it is so important to KEEP
MOVING. Any form of Exercise is better than none. Simply walking is surprising
almost as good in this respect as running and going to the gym! Surprisingly,
research has shown that the movement that produces the fastest lymph movement
is DEEP BREATHING!!! Another important factor is to realise that the blood
stream and the lymphatic system work together to maintain optimum health
in the body. Our Circulation Formula
used in conjunction with our Immune Formula can have a very positive effect
on your system.
Summary
Therefore the way to support your Immune system is to adopt a positive
frame of mind, move the body and have regular bowel movements. Proper
nutrition also pays a big part in supporting the Immune system and

Immune system when it is overloaded but also to aid the Lymph and
Digestive System. Herbalists for thousands of years have researched
and used nature's products to bring about health and improve the
bodies ability to fight disease. These combined with a good wholesome
